What Coffee for a French Press?

This is by far one of the most common questions we get!

Because French Press coffee is delicious and very easy to do!

If possible you need to weigh and grind your own beans and have the proper coffee to water ratio. We typically brew 600 grams of water to 40 grams of medium coarse to coarse ground coffee. That is a 1 to 15 ratio of coffee to water. This allows us to have a perfect extraction almost every time and fills our 20 oz tumbler perfectly! Don’t have a scale? Just use 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee to every 6 oz of water. Bring your water to a boil and remove from the heat for at least 30 to 45 seconds before you pour it over your coffee.

But what coffee you ask?

Any one of our fresh roasted small batch coffee varieties would be perfect, but we tend to like a medium or dark roast with lots of rich chocolate notes.

If you have any questions just message us on facebook or instagram and we would be glad to help!
